Book Awards

The John Newbery Medal is a literary award given by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association (ALA). The award is given to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children published that year. Together with the Newbery Medal, it is the most prestigious American children's book award.

The Children’s Literature Association of Utah (CLAU) annually sponsors Beehive awards in five categories. Winners are chosen from the nominated books by the children of Utah, who vote for their favorite books.
